A New Team,
More Care.

Rochester Community Midwives is pleased to introduce the newest member of the team, Melissa Moreland. She is a licensed, certified midwife with years of experience, a heart of gold, and a shared goal of excellent, safe care at home!

Safe in the Community

  • Safety is the uncompromising priority when welcoming babies at home.

At Rochester Community Midwives, we believe families are safest when care is deeply rooted in relationship, education, preparation, and community connection. Home birth is not the absence of medical awareness—it is skilled, attentive care centered on the dynamic and colorful picture of normal pregnancy and birth.

  • Pregnancy and birth are physical experiences, but they are also emotional, mental, social, and transformational passages. We attend to the whole person through pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. We do not simply “deliver babies.”

We initiate and welcome new parents into family life and parenthood.

Our role is to create a safe, grounded, and transformative experience that supports confidence, autonomy, connection, and trust. Once a family enters care, they become part of our community throughout their childbearing years.
